An attack on a bus driver on a 95 bus is being treated as a racially aggravated assault after he was dragged out of his cab and punched and head-butted by a group of teens. They have released a CCTV image of one of the gang believed to be responsible.

Police were called by members of the public reporting a bus driver being assaulted by a group of four males on a Route 95 double decker bus, which was stationery outside the Palm Tree Club, 462a Greenford Road, Greenford at around 8.40pm on Saturday 6th January.

One of the suspects has approached the bus driver’s cab and engaged him in conversation. The driver, unable to hear what he was asking has opened his cab door to speak to him. The other members of the group then rushed at the driver and all four suspects dragged him from his cab and onto the footpath and assaulted him.

The victim, a 51 year white male, was punched, kicked, head butted and racially abused during the assault. The victim suffered a black eye, cuts, bruises and swelling to his face, a bloodied nose, ligament damage to his left knee and damage to his left ear from being repeatedly head butted. His glasses and mobile phone were also broken during the assault. The gang were last seen making off on foot towards Oldfield Lane South, Greenford.

Shortly after the incident Police officers from the Greenford Broadway Safer Neighbourhood Team, on routine patrol in the area, stopped two males in Ravenor Park, Greenford, who fitted the description of some of the suspects.

A 14 year old Asian male from Woodhouse Ave, Perivale and a 15 year old Asian male from Clarendon Road, W5 were arrested on suspicion of Actual Bodily Harm and were bailed to return to Southall Police Station on 16th February pending further enquiries.

CCTV images of another suspect appears above.
