Day Centre for Older Residents
One-stop-shop for services and support
From today, the council’s refurbished Michael Flanders Day Centre in Acton will offer a suite of new services as Age Concern Ealing take up residence.
The new services – which include a healthy eating café and benefits advice – will be offered on top of the existing respite, rehabilitation and social activities already provided by the council. An extended range of yoga, exercise and relaxation sessions will also be available.
Up to 100 people will be able to use the centre on any given week day – doubling the previous capacity – with trained staff on hand to offer care and support.
Executive Director for Adults Services, David Archibald, said: “The new arrangements at Michael Flanders Day Centre will see a wide range of social, health and information services available under the one roof.
“From practical advice and social activities through to more intensive physical support, the services are all aimed at helping older people live independent and healthy lives.
“We encourage older residents to come down to the centre and see first-hand the kind of support and services on offer.”
The Michael Flanders Day Centre is at Church Road, Acton and is open from 8.30am – 6pm, Monday to Friday. Residents can call the centre on 020 8825 7875.
