The strike which would also have hit services on Saturday, one of the main shopping days before Christmas, was over what the union described as a 'comprehensive breakdown in industrial relations' and a sacked driver.

They now say that they are not continuing with the action after London Underground ((LU) management submitted ‘important new evidence’ into the talks process. They accuse management of waiting ten months to provide this information and leaving it ‘right up to the wire’.

In a statement the RMT says, “ The company's brinkmanship means that the line has suffered ten months of disruption and discontent as a result of their mismanagement of a highly sensitive case. “

The union has also suspended action in a separate dispute over the breakdown of industrial relations after they decided enough progress was made in talks. However, the union has warned that if further substantial progress isn't made in a number of key areas further action will be put on in the new year.
