Mystery tube traveller saves child from underneath train
A mystery man has been hailed as an angel by the parents of a child who he saved from being crushed under a tube train at Acton Town station. Four year old Benjamin Nelson-West was with his mother at Acton Town tube station when he fell into the gap between the train and the platform. His mother had been temporarily distracted as she tried to get his sister's push-chair onto the eastbound Piccadilly line train. She heard her son's voice calling her from underneath the train. The unknown man managed to grab Benjamin and haul him up just moments before the train pulled away. The child's mother Adrianna, from Hillingdon, is anxious to track the man down so she can thank him personally. She blocked the doors of the train whilst the man came to the rescue. He then handed her son to her and the doors closed before she could properly thank him or get his details. A Transport for London spokesperson said: “Our station staff were alerted to this event after it occurred. It seems one quick thinking passenger came to another's aid." The incident occurred on July 31st. August 7, 2009 |
