Putney Bridge bus stand to close for TfL and Thames Water works
From Monday 20 July, Putney Bridge bus stand will be closed while Transport for London (TfL) and Thames Water carry out works in the area. The stand, which is located outside Putney Bridge Underground station, will be closed for six weeks. During the closure, TfL will install toilet facilities for bus drivers at the stand and Thames Water will take the opportunity to carry out water main replacement works in the area. TfL worked with Thames Water to ensure that both sets of works took place concurrently, meaning it was only necessary to close the bus stand once. The council has called on Transport for London (TfL) and Thames Water to carry out maintenance work outside Putney Bridge station as quickly and efficiently as possible. Routes 39, 85, 93, 265, 270 and 414 all currently finish their journeys at Putney Bridge bus stand. During the works they will be unable to serve Putney Bridge station, but will serve other stops on Putney Bridge Approach within a short walking distance of the station. Publicity has been put up at Putney Bridge bus stand to inform passengers where the nearest alternative bus stops are. July 20, 2009 |
