Tara Camogie Club will look to retain the Junior League Shield on Sunday 14 November at Tir Chonaill Park, Greenford when they take on South London team Croydon at 2.30pm.

This promises to be an entertaining and competitive game and although Tara were victorious in the previous two encounters this year, they will not under estimate their opponents. Also, Tara are looking to do the double having already picked up the Championship Cup this year.

Tara will be looking to captain Ann Gleeson to inspire the girls and keep up their unbeaten run. Ann, fresh from picking up a London All-Star Award last week also represented England in the Camogie Centenary Tournament Final in Dublin last month, playing in Croke Park, Ireland’s theatre of dreams.

Tara’s defence will hope to keep their opponents scoring chances to a minimum with key players Emma Fitzgerald and Michelle Adair always alert and confident in their game.

Joining Ann Gleeson in midfield is likely to be Lisa Sherry whose commitment to the game, determination and energy are second to none.

Up front Tara are blessed with players such as Elaine Kelly, Catherine Dwyer & Rosie Naughton who are always likely to get on the score sheet and will be a thorn in the side of the opposition. Ger Curtin should resume her natural position of full forward will hope to mirror her fine performance of the Championship Final scoring two goals.
