Hounslow Council have announced the following sites will soon have containers for collecting plastics for recycling. The nearest location for Chiswick residents to visit will be in the car park of the main Sainsbury’s store in Essex Place, off Acton Lane.

Tesco, Mogden Lane, Isleworth

There will be 3 skips located at each site and the following plastics will be collected:

  • Plastic milk, water and other drinks bottles and lids
  • Plastic margarine / butter tubs
  • Plastic detergent and cleaning fluid containers
  • Plastic bags
  • Polythene and similar plastic packaging (including bubblewrap)
  • Plastic food containers/ trays
  • Plastic takeaway / fast food containers
  • Plastic yoghurt/cream pots

(Please note: all items for recycling must be washed before taking them to the recycling point)

The skips will be going out to the sites during the first week of July and will be operational in the second week of July. It is estimated the containers at the Chiswick location will be emptied twice a week, but if demand is high, they will be emptied more frequently.

‘The Chiswick Recycling Directory’ has just been updated. For all new information, please look at the online version on www.crag-online.org.uk. A one page update has been printed to be inserted into the paper copies of the Directories. If you haven't already got your own reference copy and would like one (or just the one page update), please contact The Chiswick Recycling Action Group (CRAG).
