Hammersmith & Fulham Council is looking for residents who have contributed to improving life in the borough.

The council wants nominations to be put forward to London Day 2005 where the Mayor of London pays tribute to extraordinary Londoners who have made a difference to life in the capital.

Anyone who meets one or more of the following criteria can be nominated to attend London Day; undertaken a heroic act, made a positive difference to the community, excellence and/or innovation in a particular field and anyone who has made a recognised contribution to an organisation over a long period of time.

The new leader of the council, Councillor Stephen Burke says, ""There are many unsung heroes in the borough. They might be someone you know at work, a neighbour, a volunteer or a member of your family. Whoever they are we want to hear about them. Hammersmith & Fulham has a great community atmosphere and we want to see our residents who work for the good of the area to get some recognition at London-wide level."

Please return your nomination to Philip.powell@mpa.gov.uk by 17 June 2005. Your nomination will then be forwarded to the Greater London Authority.
