Flying squad charge prolific armed robber

An unemployed 45 year old man had been charged by the Flying Squad with a series of 10 armed robberies in West London between October 2005 and January 2006.

Jackson John Docherty, currently of no fixed abode but formerly of 26 Boston Road, Hanwell, W7, was arrested by Hammersmith Police officer at 3pm on the 8th February 2006 in the Nat West bank in Hammersmith after attempting to obtain property by deception.

Whilst in custody Docherty was further arrested by officers from the Flying Squad in relation to a series of armed robberies in West London. Docherty admitted to ten armed robberies.

Docherty was charged with eight armed robberies, of which two were at the same Chiswick off-licence within the space of a week, two attempted armed robberies and nine associated firearm offences.

Docherty appeared at Brent on the 10th February and was remanded in custody to appear at Harrow Crown Court on 17th February 2006.

09/12/2005 - Tote Bookmakers, Northfields Avenue, Ealing, W13.

12/12/2005 - Ladbrokes Bookmakers, Lower Mortlake, Richmond, Surrey.

17/01/2006 - Ladbrokes Bookmakers, New Heston Road, Heston.

19/01/2006 - Threshers Off Licence, The Avenue, Chiswick W4.

26/01/2006 - Threshers Off Licence, The Avenue, Chiswick W4.
