Labour Keep Faith with Ann Keen | |||
Sitting MP selected to contest next general election
The Brentford and Isleworth Labour party have given their backing to Ann Keen as their candidate for the next general election. There had been suggestions that deselection was being considered after the MP attracted controversy over expenses for her second home and due to an ongoing Parliamentary Standards Watchdog investigation A resolution was put forward to investigate the repercussions of the unfavourable publicity but this was rejected by the party membership. The general election is likely to be held next year and many analysts are predicting that the national swing away from Labour would mean that they would lose the seat if poll ratings remained the same.
